Speaking in the House of Lords on 12 October 2026

Debate

Public Office (Accountability) Bill

Contribution

I am not sure whether the Minister replied to or commented on my amendment. He started to say, “In response to Lady Hamwee” and then the noble Lord, Lord Wills, came in and asked a question; I think he responded more to the noble Lord than he did to me. Perhaps I can leave the Government to think about whether the IPA’s general experience is something that the Secretary of State must bear in mind when creating guidance and so on. It is a broader, different point from those that others have been making.
