15: Schedule 1, page 38, line 36, at end insert— “(1A) In Schedule 1 (duty or power to suspend or resume investigations), in paragraph 6, after sub-paragraph (2) insert—“(3) The duty of a senior coroner to give a compliance direction under paragraph 2A of Schedule 5 in respect of an investigation does not apply at any time during which the investigation is suspended under this Schedule.””Member's explanatory statement This amendment clarifies that a duty on a senior coroner to give a compliance direction under new paragraph 2A of Schedule 5 to the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 (inserted by Part 4 of Schedule 1 to the Bill) does not apply during times when an investigation is suspended under Schedule 1 to that Act.
