On Amendment 220C—this is another iteration of that—inaccessible decisions impose enormous economic costs that evidence-based decision-making could avoid. I raised much of this at Second Reading. Lack of accessibility, according to research by Motability, costs the UK economy £72 billion every year. One in four disabled people says that inaccessible transport limits their job opportunities. One in 10 reports that it affects their education, and 39% of people with learning disabilities did not go out in the past month due to concerns about public transport. Disabled adults take 25% fewer trips than non-disabled adults in England.
