Speaking in the House of Lords on 12 October 2026

Debate

Railways Bill

Contribution

I look forward to returning to those issues in subsequent debates and hope that I have reassured noble Lords, for now, that the accessibility duties in the Bill are robust and will support the improvements we all want to see. This is a matter of huge importance to me and I am committed to ensuring that our reforms make a meaningful difference for disabled passengers. To that end, as the noble Baroness knows—she referred to this earlier—I will be happy to meet further with her, the noble Baroness, Lady Brinton, and any other noble Lords with an interest in the topic to discuss in more detail the meaningful and proportionate adjustments that GBR should make.
