Courts and Tribunals Bill

Contribution

I am very conscious of the time available for this very important legislation, so I am turning the page to conclude. To return to where I started, I welcome the Government’s commitment to bringing down the backlog. However, if we sweep the queue away from the steps of the Crown court only to lengthen the line around the block at the local magistrates court, we will not serve that aim, and we will continue to fail victims of crime and defendants alike.
