Courts and Tribunals Bill

Contribution

This amendment is intended to clarify that a court may refuse to admit evidence about a complainant’s sexual history under new section 41(2)(a) of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999 if it considers that doing so would entail disproportionate consideration of collateral issues (commonly referred to as “satellite litigation”).

About Hansard

Hansard is the official verbatim record of proceedings in the UK Parliament. Every word spoken in the Commons and Lords is recorded and published — this page is a single contribution from that record.
