Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

I suggest to the House that we have to have something in the Bill that makes it clear that the developing side of AI must not be used in place of human beings to make these various decisions. I do not think it is good enough just to say, “Well, we can’t deal with this because, obviously, AI is used in all these normally technical ways.” We have to say to the noble and learned Lord, Lord Falconer, that we look to him to find a way of just making sure—not just because it is right but because, all the way through this Bill, we should think about the public reaction to the various parts of it.
