Debate
Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) BillContribution
Those noble Lords who were previously Members of the Commons did not come to the House of Lords to undermine the elected House. Nobody does that. We are here to check on what we receive from the other House. In a way, that is what the debate on Clause 1 has been all about. I know this is a Private Member’s Bill and so the normal rules do not apply. The big mistake was introducing the programme Motions in the other place in 1997. But the fact of the matter is that we have to look at what we receive, and we received this Bill some months ago.
