Speaking in the House of Lords on 30 January 2026

Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

This has been a good debate and it was important to get that on to the table—if, for no other reason, it will alert people who would potentially be wanting to use the provisions of this Bill, should it become law, that there is a really big issue to think about in terms of the potential compensation available to their dependants. At least no one is now going to be rushing into that, or people are going to be unaware of the potential issue. With that, I beg leave to withdraw Amendment 70.
