Northern Ireland Troubles BillContribution
Amendment 4, tabled by the hon. Member for South Antrim, has our support, and it raises the issues around sexual crimes associated with the troubles. First, those existed, and secondly we have heard testimony after testimony from people who have gone through the most excruciating trauma, and revisited it time and again, yet legislation is before us tonight, and we hear that the Government want to resist the notion that sexual violence and sexual trauma form part of the troubles and therefore should not be able to be considered by the legacy commission.
