Northern Ireland Troubles Bill

Contribution

I thank the Government for their work on the so-called on-the-runs. I was proud to play my part in lobbying to bring that work forward; it is really important. Whenever we talk about the issue, it cannot be that we accept that that distortion and perversion of the law was ever acceptable. I am glad that it will be on the record that there will be no hiding place—no cup of tea and a sit-down—for terrorists. As far as I am concerned, that is absolutely non-negotiable.

About Hansard

Hansard is the official verbatim record of proceedings in the UK Parliament. Every word spoken in the Commons and Lords is recorded and published — this page is a single contribution from that record.
