I hope that the reconciliation gap can be closed, at least in part, in legislation. I also hope that when we pass the Bill, all of us—that includes political leaders here, in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland—will take up the mantle and be the generation of leaders who finally deal with the legacy of the troubles, leading by example through our interpersonal and political relationships to bring true reconciliation.
