Northern Ireland Troubles BillContribution
The Prime Minister has promised to change the culture of the state to make it more open, honest and accountable. The Bill provides a real opportunity to put that commitment into practice. That means accepting scrutiny, requiring institutions to disclose evidence even when it exposes their failures, and properly investigating allegations of state collusion, rather than leaving questions buried in classified files or unresolved inquiries. Above all, it means putting bereaved families at the very heart of the process.
