Northern Ireland Troubles BillContribution
What is striking about the victims, survivors and family groups that we meet is the fact that, regardless of their background, they support each other. They recognise that this is not one community against the other. Things are often within communities and are class-based, including the working class. They were often attacked by people from their own community. They might run into the person who they believe killed their family when they go down to Tesco to do their shopping. The connection among these people might just be the fact that the island of Ireland will always be part of them, even if they have never been there, because it is part of their family history.
