This new clause requires (a) the Secretary of State to be notified of a decision to contact, as a witness and for the purposes of an investigation or inquisitorial proceedings, a person who was a member of the armed forces during the Troubles and (b) the Secretary of State to take steps to make that person aware that they will be contacted.
