Northern Ireland Troubles Bill

Contribution

If the Government genuinely wish to help as many families and survivors to find closure as they can, they must find the resources to ensure that restorative justice processes play a much more central role in the work of the legacy commission. I appreciate that money is tight, but the cost of inaction is high; it was £5.5 million to police Drumcree, for example. It is surely better to invest in our future generations, and build a Northern Ireland where children never again know the sectarian divisions that their forebears lived through.
