Northern Ireland Troubles BillContribution
Surely the cases of the late Dennis Hutchings and Soldiers F, A and C, some of whom were exonerated after several investigations over several decades only to be re-prosecuted on charges of murder, should provide a salutary warning to the Government that the measures in the Bill are not fit for purpose. They risk reopening historical investigations and avoiding the finality that many of our soldiers and many people involved in the troubles need and deserve.
