Northern Ireland Troubles BillContribution
It is not enough simply to put money into some communities or community organisations, or to support some individuals to encourage them to no longer carry out their past activities. It is about bringing communities together. It is about bringing families back together. It is about making sure that part of the conversation we have had in the past two days—it has been a respectful debate—is that the veterans and victims are not different. They are all people and they are all part of our society in Northern Ireland, so we—as a Government, as an Assembly and as individual politicians—should be working in lockstep with them to make sure that their wishes are represented in this House.
