The right hon. Member for Belfast East and my hon. Friend the Member for Middlesbrough and Thornaby East (Andy McDonald) agreed, in one sense, that there is no point in the Bill swerving to appease first one set of stakeholders and then another. I completely agree. It is more important to ensure that the Bill is balanced, and that right the way through, everything that we are doing is consistent with fundamental principles.
