The ICIR is required by clause 76(6) to suspend work on a report about a death while a linked criminal investigation under Part 3 is underway. This amendment allows regulations to deal with cases where the ICIR is unable to produce and give that report before the end of its operational period (because, for example, that Part 3 investigation leads to a prosecution).
