Royal Mail: Performance

Contribution

I thank the Minister, the shadow Minister, the Lib Dem spokesperson and all right hon. and hon. Members who contributed to this really good debate. We have fleshed out some of the core issues, and colleagues across the Chamber have made helpful suggestions on the price of stamps, the link to targets, the payment of executive bonuses when targets continue to be missed and the fact that we need to give serious consideration to whether Royal Mail should have been privatised at all. This issue is absolutely not the fault of posties, and I thank them for their service. It is incumbent on us all to listen to them. Question put and agreed to. Resolved, That this House has considered the performance of Royal Mail.
