Financial Statement and Budget Report

Contribution

We know who we are, and we know where we are going. We can see the Britain we want to be. It is a vision burned into every line of this Budget statement—breathing space now, fresh hope for the future, delivered to the British people by this Labour Government. I commend this statement to the House. Provisional Collection of Taxes Motion made, and Question put forthwith (Standing Order No. 51(2)), That, pursuant to section 5 of the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act 1968, provisional statutory effect shall be given to the following motions:— (a) Stamp duty land tax (local government pension scheme pools) (motion no. 49); (b) Stamp duty land tax (withdrawal of group relief) (motion no. 51); (c) Value added tax (electric vehicle charging) (motion no. 55).—(John Healey.) Question agreed to.
