Safety at A140 junctions

Contribution

For many years, residents in Newton Flotman have lived with unsafe junctions on the A140. Five awkward junctions in a 500 yard stretch of the A140 are causing chaos and confusion, and they are a serious risk to safety. Over 500 residents who have signed this petition believe road improvements are urgently needed to protect motorists and pedestrians in Newton Flotman. The petitioners “therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Government to encourage Norfolk county council to commit to upgrading the junctions on the A140 with Flordon Road, Short Street, Old Street and Cargate Lane, and to improving safety for road users.” Following is the full text of the petition: [The petition of residents of the constituency of South Norfolk, Declares that the junctions on the A140 with Flordon Road, Short Street, Old Street and Cargate Lane are unsafe and pose a risk to motorist and pedestrian safety; and further declares that upgrades are needed to improve the safety of these junctions. The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urge the Government to encourage Norfolk County Council to commit to upgrading the junctions on the A140 with Flordon Road, Short Street, Old Street and Cargate Lane, and to improving safety for road users. And the petitioners remain, etc.] [P003247]
