Those are the three amendments that I sought to discuss with the Committee today, and I look forward to my noble friend the Minister’s response to them; however, I cannot sit down without briefly mentioning yesterday’s Home Office-published White Paper on a new model for policing. It stretches the goal of significantly reducing the number of police forces to establish a new national police service.
