Members in pension schemes need to have the choice to go for a contrarian or an adventurous fund. People may have other assets—their pension may not be their only asset—and they should have the freedom to take more adventurous styles. Many people nowadays have a lot of money invested in other places apart from their pension. Of course, as time goes on, they will increase in numbers because the Government changed the taxation rules for pensions to make them less advantageous to save in, making it harder for people to make the best of their future.
