I have a quick list of questions for the Minister. Will the Government commit to publishing their assessment of the barriers to UK investment by pension schemes, including the relative weight of each barrier? Will they set out what reforms they have considered, as well as why they have rejected those reforms in favour of mandation? Will they explain how they intend to reconcile mandation with fiduciary duty in practice, rather than in assertion? Will they commit to bringing forward a proper evidence base before any exercise of the power, not afterwards?
