44: Clause 1, page 1, line 17, after “life” insert “because of their terminal illness” Member’s explanatory statement This amendment and others in the name of Baroness Berger would mean that someone is only eligible for assistance in ending their own life under this Act if their clear, settled and informed wish to end their life is because of their terminal illness and not for any other reason.
