Over the last four years, there has been a great deal of discussion across the parties and in think tanks and reports about the need for political and constitutional reform in the UK. Some of this was included in Labour’s 2024 manifesto. Labour in opposition took part in these discussions with the Commission on the UK’s Future under Gordon Brown’s chairmanship—one of the major exercises.
