In the meantime, we would like to reassure the noble Baroness that the review is well under way, with the project team sharing regular updates and insights it has gained from stakeholder engagement with officials. What is more, the Law Commission’s consultation on proposed reforms is due to go live in the spring. All this will help the Government identify non-legislative action that could be taken to improve the current position and put us in a place to act quickly once the review has concluded. I emphasise again that we are not complacent; we want to move at pace, but the pace must be appropriate to be successful.
