The noble Baroness, Lady Altmann, touched on council tax and used the figure of 25%. We have to be very careful when using that sort of average, because council tax income varies across local authorities by quite large degrees and the gearing that relates to the contribution made by council tax as a single element of funding in that whole local authority’s revenue can vary quite considerably. We will probably come on to this in future groups but, to put a marker down, local authorities obviously get income from a variety of sources, so I urge some prudence on using that sort of figure.
