This brings me to the Local Government Pension Scheme. With nearly £400 billion in assets, which are projected to grow significantly in the years ahead, the LGPS is uniquely positioned both to deliver strong outcomes for members and to support productive investment across our regions. Encouragingly, this is already happening. Funds across the country are demonstrating that institutional rigour can be aligned with place-sensitive investment strategies, achieving robust financial returns while supporting jobs, growth and opportunity; we get this.
