As the Ministers make their decisions, there are the costs and expenses of the whole transition, which my noble friend has mentioned, and the insanity of forcing a fire sale of private equity assets, which typically mature over 10 years. It is wrong, and we are placing our schemes in no man’s land; too big to be small, too small to be big and, worse, divorcing the local taxpayer from the assets and the liabilities.
