I ask my noble friend the Minister: are the Government confident that, without specific references to social housing in the Bill, pension schemes will have the confidence that this investment sits appropriately with their fiduciary responsibilities? Do the Government consider that they have the necessary statutory remit to put policy and regulatory enablers in place to allow investment at scale in affordable and social housing by the LGPS and others? Will they ensure that the opportunity offered by the Bill to ensure that this happens is not lost?
