I want to speak to several points that have been made during the debate. I will speak primarily to Amendment 120, which was explained to the Committee so ably by the noble Lord, Lord Carlile. I was strongly persuaded by what he said for two reasons. First, he made an excellent case. Secondly, I am struck that, when the Bill was first introduced in the House of Commons, of course, it had a High Court and judicial process in it in the first place. The Bill’s sponsor in the House of Commons made a great deal of that being a very clear protection for vulnerable and disabled people so that people will not be forced into this process against their will; indeed, that was in the Bill all the way through its Second Reading, and many people who spoke in that debate referred to the High Court process as one of the reasons why they were content to support the Bill.
