Furthermore, when people are appointed to the judiciary, although in the interviewing process their prejudices and pleasures may be referred to, of course, they are not applying to do something that is quite specific, and I think that is a virtue of the judicial process. They may be applying to be a member of the Family Division or the King’s Bench Division or to be a district judge, but I think the neutrality of that application process means that the whole process has greater authenticity and a higher reputation. That is something we should cherish.
