Perhaps I might say to the noble and learned Lord, Lord Falconer, that, if this Motion does not pass tonight, that will not be the end of the day. Tomorrow afternoon at about 3 o’clock a Minister will stand up and move that the House should adjourn. That is a debatable event. It is also a votable event and, if that Motion were defeated, the Committee could sit until midnight, quite easily.
