(2A) Section 4 comes into force only when the Secretary of State has undertaken a consultation of the Chagossian community and laid a report of that consultation before both Houses of Parliament.”Member’s explanatory statement This amendment would prevent the provisions of this Bill relating to citizenship from coming into force unless the Secretary of State has undertaken a consultation of the Chagossian community.
