This amendment is not about frustrating diplomacy. Rather, it is simply about the right of the Chagossian voice to be heard loud and clear. This is an entire group of people, a whole cultural identity with values, language, history and ancestry. We have no right to assault those immutable things. The Chagossian community has been broken enough. What do they get from this, where is their compensation and where is their consideration?
