Diego Garcia Military Base and British Indian Ocean Territory BillContribution
UK-based Chagossians who were born on the archipelago, and their children, who do not already hold Mauritian citizenship will be eligible for Mauritian citizenship, and therefore will be able to participate in any future programme of resettlement while retaining their British citizenship. As of April 2025, 94% of Chagossians with British nationality also had Mauritian citizenship.
