Oil and Gas

Contribution

We have been importers of gas since 2004, and the Conservatives will know—because they presided over the period of decline—that it has been declining for some time. Recent events in the middle east are yet another reminder of the need to speed up the transition and protect British people from price shocks. Thanks to our mission to make the UK a clean energy superpower, we have already seen £90 billion of investment announced for clean British energy, but we are now determined to go even further and faster in pursuit of national energy security.
