Finally, the regulations include a minor update to the list of exempted occupations—the Minister reflected on that—but they do not add any or remove any that are currently exempt. Was a review undertaken to assess whether the existing list of exemptions, such as PhD-level roles, scientists, academics, clergy and sports players, still aligns optimally with the current industrial strategy and national skills needs, or if any other shortage area should be considered for exemption?
