My Amendment 462 aims to make coercion and financial abuse checking a shared statutory duty of both the commissioner and the multidisciplinary review panel. From the perspectives of older people and perhaps disabled people, these amendments are critical because many disabled individuals rely on family or carers for financial, personal and social support, making them much more at risk of coercion or financial pressure.
