When somebody else refers to the fact that life is so very difficult for the person, they perhaps appreciate that it might be better if they died. The Pathfinders Neuromuscular Alliance spoke recently of the difficulties faced by its members—from endless battles to gain access to housing and equipment, to funding for care. The ongoing widespread failure to provide proper support gives rise to feelings of depression, isolation and a diminished quality of life. Actually, in so many circumstances, proper care and support could enable people to have a content and fulfilled life.
