Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

In 2019, like the noble Lord, Lord Griffiths, I had a little problem with cancer and the Marsden beautifully cut it out. But, if I had continued chemotherapy and was unable to walk and had to, for example, go for dialysis every couple of days, that would make life totally unbearable and I would not want to continue. As I said, I am not feeling suicidal at the moment, but I can imagine circumstances where those external pressures, the lack of drugs and the lack of a quality of life would drive people to want to take their own life.
