Amendment 460 in the name of the noble Baroness, Lady Finlay, says that a panel would have to investigate any safeguarding concerns and psychosocial factors, and then there is a list of concerns, all of which it would have to go through. Again, if there are safeguarding concerns, they would have to be investigated—obviously. If there are psychosocial factors—presumably, that means how your circumstances impact your mind—and if those factors would have an effect on whether or not it looked like you might be being coerced, then of course you would have to investigate them, but I am not in favour of the list that the noble Baroness suggests. Again, I suggest that the right approach is to leave it to the individual doctor in every case to conclude what the position is.
