Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

We know that, if you are a patient on a hospital ward at the moment, you are only too aware of the pressures. There are patients being treated in corridors. You may be treated in a four-bedded bay with perhaps another bed put up in the middle, behind curtains, where you can hear everything going on. That is not an environment to make complex, intimate decisions about what you are frightened of and what you are thinking might happen. You see wards understaffed and the staff unable to cope.

About Hansard

Hansard is the official verbatim record of proceedings in the UK Parliament. Every word spoken in the Commons and Lords is recorded and published — this page is a single contribution from that record.
