Debate

Crime and Policing Bill

Contribution

The noble Baroness mentioned stop and search in particular. The Home Office already publishes significant detail on stop and search information. I gave some details in answer to a parliamentary question last week about the number of searches that resulted in weapons—knives and guns—being found. The number of arrests following a search and the demographic data on the individual search, broken down by individual community safety partnerships, police force areas and members of the public: all that information is published through the annual data, and detailed on stop and search maps on police.uk using monthly data provided directly by police forces. So it is already there, and the amendment would not add to that.
