Ofcom will continue to monitor the implementation of the codes’ measures to identify gaps in protections and the risk assessment process for platforms. It also gathers evidence through research and intelligence activity, and through engagement with civil society. It also regularly publishes its own research into online harms and relevant reports. Ofcom has the flexibility to establish other mechanisms for conducting research about users’ experiences. Examples include working with the Children’s Commissioner to establish a panel of children who regularly feed back on their online experiences and how they are changing.
