On a point of order, Madam Deputy Speaker. Devon and Cornwall MPs have received a letter from the Department of Health and Social Care stating that a decision on reopening North Devon district hospital’s maternity unit could be made next week. That directly contradicts the Royal Devon university healthcare NHS foundation trust, which has insisted to me and the public again today that a decision will be made on 26 October. For the sake of many worried families in North Devon, it is important that Government communications are accurate, so please can I put this point on the record?

I thank the hon. Member for giving notice of his point of order. He has successfully put his point on the record, and I am sure it will have been noted by Members on the Treasury Bench, who can make the relevant Ministers aware.
