50th anniversary of the Court of the Deacons of the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Linlithgow

That this House congratulates the Court of the Deacons of the Ancient and Royal Burgh of Linlithgow on the occasion of its 50th anniversary; notes with appreciation the visit of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence on 18 December 2025 to mark this historic milestone; notes the celebratory service of thanksgiving held at St Michael’s Parish Church, during which Her Royal Highness dedicated the new town flag introduced at the 2025 Linlithgow Marches; recognises the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in Linlithgow Burgh Halls and the Court’s commitment to upholding and carrying forward the traditions of the Riding of Linlithgow Marches; notes the importance of the Marches as a highlight of the community calendar dating back to the 16th century; and commends the Provost, Bailies, Past Provosts and members of the Court for their dedication to preserving the heritage and civic life of Linlithgow for future generations.
